A single sentence was cut out of a twelve-minute speech made on 19 January 2018, before the operation had even begun; the speech as a whole is not support for America but a warning against it.

In the full recording the word "murderer" was said not about those who took to the streets, but about those who beheaded the privates brought to the bridge after being told "there is a drill".

The headline gave the impression that the abuse was being defended; in the full speech the words were "the person who committed that crime must be given the necessary punishment". The newspaper later changed the headline.

The sentence that was cut out was not a wish but a warning describing what others were doing. The chief inspector of the Directorate General of Foundations wrote that it contained no insult, and on 10 January 2019 the court returned an acquittal.
