House arrest for a silent vigil, judicial control for a social media reply

Furkan Haber's report of 16 September 2026 describes measures that reach past the people named in the case file. In Muş, three members who held a silent vigil were placed under house arrest. The vigil amounted to standing and waiting in silence.

The same account says the circle widened online as well. Citizens who answered slanders about the movement on social media were summoned to give statements and are now subject to judicial control. In the same weeks the movement's official websites and the social media accounts of many members had been blocked, so speaking online and being heard online became two sides of a single restriction.

House arrest and judicial control are measures rather than sentences. There is no conviction against the three members or against the citizens summoned, and no specific charge has been set out. No official explanation of the grounds for either decision was given.
