Pensions of Kuytul and his students blocked while the investigation continues
On 14 September 2026, Ömer Hakseven, one of Alparslan Kuytul's lawyers, announced that a block had been placed on his client's pension account. According to Hakseven, the same measure has been applied to many of Kuytul's students.
The lawyer's objection rests on two points. The first is authority: a pension is a vested right, and a prosecutor's office has no power to block it. The second is proportionality: blocking the whole of someone's only income, in a case still at the investigation stage and with no concrete evidence, is not a proportionate measure.
Hakseven pointed out that five children whose mother and father are both in prison depend on that pension, and that the school year had begun on the very day he wrote.

Cruelty upon cruelty against Alparslan Hoca!
As if a "financial operation" against a scholar who spent years in Islamic service without ever taking a single kuruş were not enough, a block has now been placed on his pension account, his only source of income!
Blocking a pension is a plain violation of rights. In a case still at the investigation stage, with no concrete evidence whatsoever, placing a block on the whole of a person's only income is not a proportionate measure and is prohibited by the Constitution. A pension is a vested right, and the prosecutor's office has no authority to block it.
Do you never think how five children whose mother and father are in prison are to live? And their school year began today!
It is not only Alparslan Hoca: blocks have been placed on the pensions of many of his students too. What do you want from these people? You imprisoned them, you exiled them to every corner of Turkey — was that not enough, and now you want to leave their families destitute?
I want to recall this verse of our Lord: "O you who believe, stand firm for God as witnesses to justice. Do not let hatred of a people lead you away from justice." (Al-Ma'ida 8)
