Disinformation Around the August 2026 Judicial Process

The "Furkan Intelligence Organisation" and "Execution Squad" Claim

The "Furkan Intelligence Organisation" and "Execution Squad" Claim

Unfounded

Claim

Within the Furkan Movement units have been set up under the names "Furkan Intelligence Organisation" (FİT) and "Execution Squad"; a sharia court is being run inside the movement, people are tried there and sentenced to punishments resembling the bastinado.

Claimed by: Cübbeli Ahmet — CNN Türk, "Tarafsız Bölge" (moderator: Ahmet Hakan)7 September 2026

Fact

Within the Furkan Movement there is no unit whatsoever set up under the name "Furkan Intelligence Organisation", "FİT" or "Execution Squad". The accounts of a sharia court having been set up inside the movement, of people being tried there and of the bastinado or similar punishments being applied are rejected absolutely.

Two unanswered questions

Two questions stand in front of an imputation of this weight, and both are unanswered:

  • Is there a final court ruling about these accusations?
  • Can one person who says they went through this, or one person who says they did it, be produced?

If there is anyone who says they saw or went through such a practice, the movement is open to the claims being examined in all their aspects.

Why such names are chosen

"Intelligence organisation" and "execution squad" are not legal definitions but namings that generate associations. Naming a structure in this way does not prove that the structure exists; but it builds the diagram of a secret organisation in the listener's mind. The force of the imputation comes not from its evidence but from the words chosen.

While these accounts are relayed in news texts with the reservation "claim", "it was alleged", "it was reflected in the file", a television commentator turning the same sentences into a definite ruling accords neither with law nor with fairness. What is more, some of these accounts do not even appear in the investigation files.

This claim was voiced on 7 September 2026 on the CNN Türk programme "Tarafsız Bölge". The collected answer to the imputations listed on the programme: Cübbeli Ahmet's claims about the Furkan Movement on CNN Türk — the Furkan Movement's full statement text.
