Bank accounts of detainees and those under house arrest frozen

According to Furkan Haber's report of 16 September 2026, the freezes placed on the bank accounts of members jailed or put under house arrest after the 19 August 2026 operation have not been lifted. People against whom no verdict has yet been handed down are in practice cut off from their own money.

The concrete example is Alparslan Kuytul's pension. The block on that payment has narrowed the means of a household with five children. The financial measures did not stop there: at the same time as the operation, trustees were appointed to five separate private companies that have no financial or organic link to the movement.

Those affected are not only the people in prison. Three members who held a silent vigil in Muş were placed under house arrest, and citizens who answered accusations on social media have been called in to testify and put under judicial control. Frozen accounts, house arrest and judicial control thus form a chain of restrictions operating before any trial has concluded.
