Ten people transferred to Erzurum are held in solitary

Furkan Haber's report of 16 September 2026 states that ten of the people jailed in the case opened by the 19 August 2026 operation are being held in solitary confinement. All ten lived in Adana and the surrounding area, yet they were sent to Erzurum without their families or their lawyers being informed beforehand.

Such transfers change more than the address of detention. Because no official notification was issued, relatives had to establish for themselves which prison each person had been taken to, and for families based around Adana a visit now means travelling to the other end of the country. Alparslan Kuytul, the main defendant in the same file, was also sent to Erzurum, about 1000 kilometres from his home, and placed in a high security prison of the kind publicly known as "well type".

In this case 36 people were jailed, Alparslan Kuytul, Semra Kuytul and 34 members, although no concrete evidence had been produced, and the solitary regime and the transfers to distant provinces have continued since those decisions.
