Handcuffed without a custody order
Furkan Haber, the movement's own outlet, reported on 16 September 2026 that simultaneous raids were carried out on the morning of 19 August 2026 at the homes of Alparslan Kuytul and members of the Furkan Movement. The head office of Furkan Nesli magazine was sealed off by armoured vehicles at the same hours.
Two details carry this particular entry. The officers who came to Kuytul's home, the account says, had no formal custody order with them. And he was handcuffed even though nobody at the address offered resistance and nothing there threatened public order.
Handcuffs are a measure against resistance or flight; by this account neither was present at the address that morning. Nor was the decision the detention rested on produced there.
